WHY WE REBRANDED
As life evolves, expectations change and so should the protection, and how it shows up for people.
Our rebrand was driven by a simple yet powerful belief. In moments of uncertainty, people don’t just need insurance, they need reassurance. An identity that feels present in times of distress, steady in moments of doubt, and supportive when it matters most. That belief led us to Sukoon, an identity that truly reflects our purpose. Sukoon represents peace of mind, reassurance, and calm across the region’s widely spoken languages. It speaks to our promise of being there in every situation, no matter how big or small. This change wasn’t about leaving our past behind. It was about redefining our purpose more clearly placing people, their lives, and their priorities at the heart of everything we do. So they can focus on what matters most, knowing protection is already in place.
OUR REBRAND JOURNEY
Our journey from Oman Insurance Company P.S.C. to Sukoon Insurance PJSC, a milestone built on decades of experience and trust.
Deeply rooted in the UAE, Sukoon reflects our heritage, resilience, and long-standing commitment to the communities we serve. The newly embraced identity also signals, our evolution into an insurer designed for modern day; one that embraces innovation and stands firm on its promises to customers and partners. Nearly three years on, Sukoon continues to carry forward its legacy with the same dedication it has upheld for over 50 years. The name may have changed, but our focus remains consistent from the moment you start your journey with us and in the times you need us the most. Because at the heart of Sukoon is a simple promise, to protect you and give you the confidence to move forward, knowing that Sukoon is here for you.
YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED
Mashreq Bank remains Sukoon’s primary stakeholder, and our chairman and members of the Board and Executive Committee continue to steer the firm as before. So, to answer your question, no, we have neither been acquired nor going through a change in management.
Rest assured - all existing contracts in force and effect will remain valid as per terms stated therein. Since our license number and correspondence details remain the same, we do not believe it is necessary to update our contracts at this point in time.
Nevertheless, should you have questions related to your contract(s) or wish to have your contract(s) updated with the new legal name, please reach out to your Relationship Manager at Sukoon.
If you currently use Oman Insurance Company's logo or branding materials in any of your marketing artefacts (including websites and portals), please replace them with Sukoon Insurance's logo and branding materials. For assistance or more information, please reach out to your Relationship Manager at Sukoon.
Since no correction is required for post-dated cheques already submitted to Sukoon, your bank will continue to honour your cheque(s) issued in favour of Oman Insurance Company - our old legal name.
Nevertheless, we urge you to keep track of their encashment status. In case of unexpected delays or rejection, simply reach out to your Relationship Manager at Sukoon so that we can resolve the issue together.
If you have issued a standing instruction to your bank to auto debit premiums, then we request you to update the beneficiary's bank account name to “Sukoon Insurance PJSC" within 6 months following the legal name change. The bank account number will remain the same. Going forward, please initiate wire transfers or issue cheques for payment of premium in favour of “Sukoon Insurance PJSC.”
For credit card authorisations, no prior action is required.
No changes (other than of the legal name) have been made in terms of banking information. Please make sure that the beneficiary's name is updated as “Sukoon Insurance PJSC” in all transactions following the legal name change.
Cheques issued following the rebrand must carry “Sukoon Insurance PJSC” as the beneficiary’s name. The bank account number will remain the same.
If the transfer was made during the transit stage, no immediate action will be required. However, we urge you to keep track of the wire transfer. In case of unexpected delay or rejection, please reach out to your Relationship Manager at Sukoon immediately so we can resolve the issue together.
All wire transfers following the legal name change must be initiated with “Sukoon Insurance PJSC” as the payee, not Oman Insurance Company.
Please reach out to your respective point-of-contact at Sukoon to file such request. The Finance Team will then take it forward.
